1: Tidy up the gardens

Overgrown and messy gardens are off putting, because they are the first thing that a potential buyer will see when approaching your property. Avoid thinking you need to invest in expensive landscaping to make a real difference, but instead work with what you have already. Hire a gardener for a day, to trim the hedges, pull out the weeds and give the plants you have a healthy boost.

Remember that potential owners will be attracted to a garden that is easy to care for, so make it look this way. If your garden looks effortlessly maintained they will be more likely to make a purchase. Many families are concerned about the maintenance of a property, and landscaping is included in this.

2: Declutter everything

Every room inside your home should be clutter free, and your garages and outdoor storage spaces should be exactly the same. Less items make a home look fresher and more comfortable to live in, and this also gives the illusion of more space. A crowded and cluttered room looks uncared for and difficult to move around, so take the clutter out and put it in storage while you prepare to sell your home.
